As a young boy he grew up in Garnish playing Soccer, one of his favorite things to do. He loved his family dearly and took great pride in his grandchildren and will be missed by all who knew him, especially his wife Dona who was the love of his life.
Don enjoyed his job at the Marystown Shipward where he worked a number of years. He was an incredibly hard worker and a good natured man, who was always willing to share a joke. He spent many hours fly tying and was an avid salmon fisherman. Don will be remembered for his love and devotion to the people closest to him. He was admired by all who knew him and he had a smile that lit up the room.
In keeping with Don’s wishes cremation has taken place.
A Celebration of Life will be on Saturday July 8, 2023 2PM from the Salvation Army Citadel, Garnish with inurnment following at the Salvation Army Cemetery, Garnish.
Our heartfelt thanks to the St. Lawrence Longterm Care Facility and the workers who included him on their many "take out" runs. Also to the Burin Peninsula Health Care Centre who cared for him in his final days.
In Lieu of Flowers, donations can be made to the St. Lawrence Longterm Care Facility.
