Leaving to mourn her children; Leonard ( Linda ), Ralph ( noella predeceased ) Cecil, Greg (Kathy ) Rodney ( Christine) Keith ( Elsie ) Regina ( Thomas predeceased ) Perry ( Donna ) Terrance, Michelle ( Jamie ) Mercedes ( predeceased) Randy. Susan had 24 grandchildren and many many great grandchildren; sisters Mary, Emma (Casmir) Harnett of St. Lawrence, Mary (Norm) Hickman of Sydney NS, Melinda (Bertram) Harnett of Lords Cove, Lucy (Maurice) Hodge of Lords Cove, Louise (Ralph) Lyall Of Labrador; brothers Michael (Joyce) Benteau of Lunenburg, NS, Leonard (Donna) Benteau of B. C., Peter (Edna) Benteau of St. Lawrence and a large circle of other family and friends.
Susan ( or Suse as everyone loved to call her ) was the purest of hearts and the glue that held the Fitzpatrick family together. She was the happiest when she was tending to her very large and close nit family. Susan had dedicated her entire life to taking care of her husband, children and grandchildren. From berry picking, baking, cooking and serving up the most authentic and delicious meals, Susan was the most fulfilled when she had a house full of loved ones. She was known for her outspoken manner, and comical ways. She had a voice that you could hear through the whole town, and it filled everyone’s heart. Sues had a tough life of raising 12 children while her husband spent his days at work. Although raising such a large family wasn’t easy, Susan wouldn’t have had it any other way. If you were fortunate enough to visit Suse at any point in your life, you were likely greeted with the smell of freshly baked bread, the sounds of children misbehaving ( and Suse roaring at them ) a warm and welcoming smile and the kindest offer of “ are you hungry “. You would sit and have a cup of tea, catch up and build memories with this wonderful soul.
The monumental impression this angel left on those she touched, will forever be remembered.
She will now rest peacefully with her husband ( Willie as she would call him) , parents Peter Benteau & Lucy Stacey Benteau ; 2 daughters ( Regina and Mercedes) son in law( Thomas ) daughter in law(noella ) and 2 grandchildren ( Bradley and staceylee ), sisters Emma Harnett & Melinda Harnett; brothers Michael Benteau, Leonard Benteau & Peter Benteau in heaven.
