Joy was a very valuable dedicated member of the Baine Harbour fire flies serving for 25 plus years.
Joy was our group treasurer for many years and after our well attended bingos we pulled our cash together and Joy's little fingers and hands counted the cash with accuracy never a nickel out. There was clicking and jingling of the coins and sorting bills almost too fast for the recorder to put pen to paper. Joy would say as the tally came up we got her done for another night and of she go with the guarded cash.
Joy also put her tiny hands and fingers to work making Christmas costumes for our parades from bits and pieces of material some of which are still used today.
She was a community minded individual serving the fire flies and indirectly the fire department and other committees and she loved her game of darts. Joy had a love for life, fun and friendship.
I'm glad we have worked side by side and have those memories to share.
My condolences to her husband Ross theircdaughters and families as well as her extended family and friends
RIP Joy

Ross, crystal , Lori and family, my heart breaks for you all, we all have so many beautiful memories of Joy, her singing, playing cards, on the beaches at the island, and lots of other places.
Joy did take on her diagnosis with courage, she would point her finger at me and say, no crying, I’m not crying and you’re not aloud to either,
The island will never be the same again Rest In Peace my beautiful cousin/ friend.

I met Linda while attending ABE at Keyin and quickly became friends, we had so much fun and still learned a few things along the way. It was always a pleasure to meet up with her, usually at Walmart, where we would take a few minutes to catch up and it was there in front of Walmart that I last saw her. She smiled even through her pain. She was and will always be an inspiration to those of us who had the pleasure of knowing her. Ross and Family, I wish you all the best during this difficult time. Heart felt Condolences, Maxine

To Linda’s Family
I went to Keyin with Linda and we became fast friends. Always loved to see her big smile. I’ve followed her journey with cancer and rooted for her to win. She was so strong in many ways. I will always remember her fondly. Take care of each other. RIP Linda
