Obituary of Jerome Lockyer
It is with great sadness the family of Jerome Lockyer of Point au Gaul announce his passing at the Burin Peninsula Health Care Center on August 4th, 2021 at the age of 68 years.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories sons Darrell (Tracy) of Lamaline and Ryan of Point au Gaul; grandsons Nathan and Tyson; sisters Vera, Philomena and Cecilia; brothers Warren (Betty) and Cecil (Jessie); sisters-in-law Maureen (Russ), Maxine (Kevin), Agatha and Jeanann; brothers-in-law Jim, Kevin and Gabriel (Elizabeth) and Charles (Bernice); lifelong friends Ralph Martin & William Hepditch plus a large circle of other family and friends.
Predeceased by his wife Kate; son Christopher; parents John and Jessie Lockyer; brothers Kevin and Lawrence; sister Sharon; parents-in-law Sylvester and Veranne Fitzpatrick, brothers-in-law Ned, Sylvester and Alfred and sisters-in-law Sharon and Susie.
In keeping with Jerome’s wishes Cremation has taken place.
Graveside service will take place at a later date and time to be announced at St. Joseph’s RC Cemetery, Allan’s Island.
Jerome was a great singer and loved to sing. George Jones was one of his many favorite singers he was known as the Point au Gaul Possum. He loved to go berry picking, was an avid hunter, salmon fishing. He loved the outdoors.
He was a great grandfather and his grandkids loved him dearly. He will be missed by all his family but he leaves behind many good memories they will cherish.
