Obituary of George Nelson Mayo

It is with great sadness the family of George Nelson Mayo of Epworth announce his passing at Burin Peninsula Health Care Center on January 14th, 2021 at the age of 83 years. Leaving to mourn loving wife of 58 years Betty; sons Rodney(Elaine) of CBS, Lloyd (Cathy) of Epworth and Wade of Epworth; daughter Lorna (Randy Turpin) of Great Salmonier; grandchildren Justin Mayo, Michelle Mayo (Williams), Dylan Mayo, Andrew Mayo, Brandon Mayo, Joshua Turpin and Jenny Turpin; great grandchildren Taylor-Rae, Anna-Marie, Nelson and Christopher; sister Alfreda (William Grandy) plus a large circle of other family and friends. Family will be accepting friends and family Friday and Saturday, 2-4PM and 7-9PM. Funeral service will take place from Serenity Chapel on Sunday, January 17th at 2PM by invitation only. The maximum number of people permitted in the funeral home at one time is 20 people. All visitors must sign in and sign out for contact tracing purposes, and masks must be worn at all times. Hand sanitizer will be provided and is to be used upon entering and exiting the building. No food or beverages are permitted in the building. Thanking you in advance for respecting the regulations. Together we can do this. In lieu of flowers, in George's memory donations may be made to The Gathering Place, St. John's. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Burin. "We Listen.
