Obituary of Hank Thomas Thornhill
It is with great sadness the family of Hank Thornhill announce his passing at his residence in the arms of his loving wife of 35 years Jackie at the age of 59 years; his pride and joy daughter Chantal (Evan); grandchildren Blair and Jack Smith; sisters Mary (Tony), Isabelle (Cator), Amanda (Boyd), Scott, Rod (Sheila) and John (Gloria); parents John Sr. and Eileen; father-in-law David Drake; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law Peggy (Randy), Rhonda (Sim) and Greg (Beryl); many nieces and nephews; plus a large circle of other family and friends.
Predeceased by nephew Michael and mother-in-law Susanna Drake.
Hank was married to his soul mate Jackie, they were together 45 years and married 35. They spent all their time together from hunting to fishing they done it together.
Chantal was always his little girl and her 2 children were his pride and joy. He loved them more then words can express.
Hank was a special person, you met him once and he was your friend. His family was everything. He had a special relationship with his siblings and his parents. They were family but his friends as well. He loved to spend time with them all from birthday parties to Christmas celebrations. Hank had a special charm he always had a funny story or joke to make you laugh. He was a wonderful Uncle and all the kids loved him and was so glad to see him. He often was quoted in saying “It is what it is” and that’s the way he lived his life. A very humble man that lived a simple life but enjoyed every moment of his life. He loved to laugh and make everyone around him laugh. He had a nickname for everyone. He was a jack of all trades.
He loved fishing, hunting, camping, his cabin and cutting wood and swimming. Many of his uncles and friends called him “Fish” because of his love for the water. He loved all sports and he gave his heart and soul to any game he played, regardless of the sport he gave his all.
He loved his Uncle Angus dearly and always talked about how he taught him to ride a horse and how he would wait for Hank to get off the bus every day. He never forgot all the good times they shared and the special bond they had. Now they are finally together in Heaven.
He loved his Harley and rode her with pride. She always had a shine and he loved to make her roar.
Hank will be missed by all his family but he leaves behind many memories for them to laugh and share together. He wanted his family to celebrate his life remember all the good times and never forget “It is what it is.” Hank is now riding his Harley on a different highway with no pain and suffering. Ride free Hank and God speed on your journey. We love you forever.
Special thanks to his nurse Jennifer Barter, Dr. William Moulton and all the chemo staff at Burin Peninsula Health Care Center and anyone that helped in anyway. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Family will be accepting visitors July 1, 2023 from 4:30 to 9PM and Sunday, July 2, 2023 from 2-9PM.
Funeral Service will take place on July 3rd at 11:30AM with cremation following.
