I met Dave on one of the worst days in my Life and I knew right then that Debbie had found a good man. My Sister Bernadine had been rushed to the hospital in Burin and she passed the following day. Debbie had been dating Dave for a short time and he was at the hospital to support Debbie. The way that he stayed close to Debbie that night and the affection he showed for her was so good to see. I didn’t see Dave often, maybe 5 or 6 times a year but always enjoyed yarning with him and listening to his new jokes. He was a very genuine man who had a heart of gold and would give you the shirt off his back. He worked hard most of his life in the fish plant and was approaching retirement age where him and Debbie would finally enjoy a comfortable life. He gave Debbie a great life since they met and he tormented her sometimes to the point she would lose her patience with him which made him laugh even more. You will be missed dearly brother.

My dear brother, my heart is very sad today and my thoughts go back to us as little kids growing up in that little house sometimes 3 to a bed. Even though we did not have a lot of material things we always knew how much our Mom and Dad loved and cherished each one of us.
I remember us playing hockey inside that house on rainy days and how we thought the place was so big.
I also remember how young you were when we loss Mom and how well you handled that situation. You made me very proud of you.
I remember one trip we made for vacation, we were staying in the Golden Sands and you decided to invite everyone for Sunday dinner. We all lost track of time and realized the grocery stores had all closed. You had to go pick up all the ingredients for a Jiggs dinner at Cal’s house (with his permission of course) best Sunday dinner ever… lol.
We will always be grateful for how you stepped up and took care of Dad in his final years as well.
You were only 15 years old when I left home. Even though we haven’t spent much time together since then I am so proud of the Father you were to Johnathon and the Husband you have been to Debbie.
I have always been proud to call you my Little Brother.
Until we meet again rest in peace. I love you little Brother.
Love Chet, Donna
& Family

I have many fond memories of Dave, playing softball and ball hockey together and enjoying a cold brew afterwards. Dave was a kind, caring guy with a great personality. My deepest condolences go out to Dave's family during this difficult time. God bless you all and RIP Dave.
