Obituary of Ada Drysdale Moulton (nee Cluett)
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Ada Moulton (nee CLUETT) of Garnish announce her passing at US Memorial Health Centre in St. Lawrence on June 17, 2023 at the age of 88 years.
Ada leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband Oliver, her daughter Joan (Glenn) Luther of Corner Brook, daughter-in-law Mary, grandchildren Mark (Kimberley), Lea (John), Thomas (Ann) and Andrew (Bridget), great grandchildren Luke and Lane, and a large circle of family and friends.
Ada is predeceased by her son Donald Moulton, her parents John and Matilda Cluett, her sisters Melita (Wilbert) Legge, Edith (Hugh) Slaney, Gladys (Aidan) Pack, and Mavis (Roy) Roberts, and her brother Chester (Norma) Cluett.
Ada was a devoted and loving wife to Oliver for 62 years, who she cared for daily following an accident that left Oliver paralyzed in 1979. She was a caring and proud mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. In her early years, Ada was a teacher at La Poile and Garnish, Newfoundland. Ada and Oliver moved to Ontario after they were married in 1960 and returned to their hometown of Garnish in 1976. Ada had an unwavering faith that gave her tremendous strength. She was a dedicated volunteer in her church as long as she was able. Ada was dearly loved by all that had the privilege to have known her. She will be forever missed by her family and friends.
Ada’s family would like to thank the exceptional staff at St. Lawrence Retirement Living where she resided for the past 4 years, and especially Nancy and her dear friend Paulette. Sincere thanks to the nurses and staff at the Burin and US Memorial Health Centres, and especially Dr. McCarthy for his kindness and professionalism in her final days.
Visitation is being held on Tuesday June 20, 2023 from 2-4PM at the United Church, Garnish.
Funeral services will take place at Garnish United Church on Wednesday June 21, 2023 at 1PM with interment following at the United cemetery Garnish.
As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Arthritis Society of Canada, or to a charity of choice.
