Captain Freeman Burbridge - May 31, 1948 - May 25, 2023
It is with great sadness the family of Freeman Burbridge announces his peaceful passing at his home, Epworth on Thursday May 25, 2023 at the age of 74 years.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories wife Marilyn Burbridge of 56 years of marriage and his best friend – his cat Chloe of 15 years; daughters Jewel Moulton Collingwood, ON, Karen Burbridge St. Anthony, NL, Laurie Ann Burbridge Brooks AB, & Juanita Harding (Elvis) Red Deer, AB; Grandchildren Amanda Burbridge, William Beazley, Caitlin Moulton, Mason Martin, Colby Strangemore, Bailey Grant and Brandon Harding; great- grandchildren CJ Burbridge and Ryder Edwards-Beazley; sister Mary Anstey (Boyce) Norris Arm, NL; brothers Carl Burbridge (Joyce) Marystown, NL, Curt Burbridge (Peggy) Epworth, NL, Edwin Burbridge (Linda) St. John’s, NL and a large circle of other family and friends.
Predeased by parents Percival and Bessie Burbridge, parent-in-laws Albert and Philomena Sutton and great grandson Terrence Freeman Mallay.
Freeman was a hard worker who dedicated his life to the sea.
At the early age of 19 years he got his Captain’s Ticket and sailed the seas
With many great men over the span of 45 years and they raised their 4 daughters in Epworth, NL.
In Keeping with Freeman wishes cremation has taken place.
There will be a celebration of Freeman’s life on Thursday, June 1, 2023 from 10AM-12PM, 2-4PM & 7-9PM at Serenity Funeral Home, Burin.
