In 1996, Morris started his role as the president of the Harbour Authority in Burin. His aim was to ensure that under his leadership, there would be success, and so there was. Morris did not stop there, regionally and nationally, he took on this leadership role through organizations that would require his knowledge and input to help harbour authorities reach their success, and so he did. He wore many hats and each hat he served as a leader, teacher, friend and colleague. His silly jokes and stories of years passed, that won over the hearts of many, will be missed. Morris was a giant man in the harbour authority world and his absence will be felt for years to come.
In Morris’ memory donations may be made to the St. Andrews Mens Club, Port-au-Bras, or flowers gratefully accepted.
