George was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed 60 years of marriage to the love of his life Bessie. He was a man you only had to meet once and he became a lifelong friend. He was a founding member of All Saints Anglican Church, Fortune and was very faithful and loyal to his church. He served on vestry, school board and many different committees, he was a proud Mason who knew all the rituals word for word from memory , and also a member of the S.U.F he served as their chaplain for 30 years . He was jack of all trades - fisherman, he worked in the lumber woods and finally became a fishery officer with the federal government for 33 plus years. In his retirement he decided to take up farming which he loved dearly. George had a wonderful memory and was a true story teller that could keep anyone entertained and always a laugh. He loved to embellish a story and play practical jokes, his ability to tell a good joke was admired by all. He was master of ceremonies at many weddings and always had the guests in roars of laughter. His ability to entertain people was a true gift he had and his remarkable memory is something that he will always be remembered for. If you met George you had to love him and his beautiful smile could make anyone's day brighter. He was a Toronto Maple Leaf Fan right to the end so we all know that made him a good person. He will be forever remembered and loved by his family. George will be remembered by all who knew him as a true gentlemen. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Grand Bank.
