Obituary of Lillian Florence King
Please share a memory of Lillian to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lillian Florence King (known to some as Lillian Francis) of Marystown on Thursday, February 25th, 2021, at the age of 88.
Lillian, the daughter of the late Hannah and Emmanuel Keeping, was born and raised in Boat Harbour, NL. She was a woman who took great joy in the simplest of life's pleasures. Her warm-hearted personality and undeniable sense of humor and wittiness were contagious to everyone she met.
Leaving to mourn with precious memories are her three daughters Effie(Allan), Mary (Brent), and Gladys (Cyril), and four sons Winston(Beverly), Melvin, Albert (Mary), and Furlen (Cindy). She was a loving Grandmother to 18 grandchildren and to numerous great-grandchildren.
Lillian is predeceased by her husband, Stanley; daughter, Christine; sister, Mabel; and brother, George.
“God looked around his garden and he found an empty place. He then looked down upon this earth, and saw your tired face. He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest. God’s garden must be beautiful, he always takes the best. He knew that you were suffering, he knew you were in pain. He knew that you would never get well on earth again. He saw the road was getting rough, and the hills were hard to climb, so he closed your weary eyelids, and whispered “Peace be thine.” It broke our hearts to lose you Nan, Mom, and Grandmother, but you didn’t go alone. For part of us went with you today when God called you home.”
Her warmth, kindness, laughter, and love will be eternally missed.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has taken place.
Due to COVID restrictions, a graveside funeral service will be held at a later date.
Donations in her memory may be made to Heart & Stroke Foundation.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home; We Learn, We Listen & We Walk With You.
How lucky are we to have had someone that makes saying goodbye so hard?
