Obituary of Edward (Ed) Dana George Langer

After a long courageous battle with cancer the family of the late Edward (Ed) Langer announces his passing at the Palliative Care Unit of Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Thursday, April 16, 2020 at the age of 78 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife: Joan of 44 years. His siblings: Gladys Elliott (Gar), Olive Payne (Tom), John Langer (Glenda); sister in law: Linda Langer.; brother in law: Francie Walsh In-Laws: Lorne (June), Nellie (Herb), Melvin (Marie), Chris (Karen), and John. Marshal (Marissa) who was like a son to him. His furry friend: Shylo; 34 nieces and nephews, and his very close long term friends: Lorraine (Kevin), Margaret (Percy), Rose. Also leaving to mourn his extended family and many friends. He was predeceased by his parents: Raymond and Lillian Langer, brothers: Austin, Robert (Elizabeth): sisters: Dorothy Parsons (Leo), Geraldine (William). also predeceased by his mother in law and father in law Leslie and Esther Kenway; Sisters in law: Flora (Jim), Sandra: nephew: Allan and niece: Doreen. Ed loved sports of all kinds. He had a passion for roller skating and actually won a couple of roller derbies in his younger years. A great lover of music…especially guitar. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Peter Callahan, the chemo unit and nurses at the Palliative Care Unit of WMRH. To all that have reached out to us during Ed’s sickness and his passing, we cannot name you all but know we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Due to the Covid19 health restrictions, there will be a private family viewing at Country Haven Funeral Home. There will be a celebration of life held at Serenity Funeral Home with inurnment following at a later date.
