Just read of Mrs. Pike's passing and remember her and George as wonderful people, salt of the earth. My first memory of Alma is of one night we were about to have a church meeting at Burin Bay Arm. I hadn't met her yet but my attention was drawn to her when she said, "We picked a hundred and forty gallons of partridge berries this fall". I could hardly believe what I was hearing since I couldn't pick these many in a lifetime. She and George became great friends while we were in Burin and for years after as campers. We often were invited to their home Sunday evenings after church and the welcome was indeed a warm one when George got the wood stove going. She was a faithful Christian and great fun. Sending sincere condolences to the Pike family, as you say good-bye to your mom. We loved seeing her at the Park here in Gander where she and Mr. Pike loved to stay in their RV. We also would see them at Marilyn in St. John's. They were a beautiful couple and always a joy to be around.

To The Pike Families;
So sorry to hear about Mrs. Pike's passing. I did have the privilege to meet her when she was visiting Deana a few times. She was on her way berry picking at one time and we had a lovely chat, telling me how she loved to berry pick each year. She lived a long good life and I am sure she is in a better place today. I am so very sorry to hear of Alma’s passing. She was such a great friend. I will always remember her as a fun and very caring person. We had many good times in our UCW meetings,she always made us laugh.
