Sam and family,
I was both shocked and saddened to learn of Sylvia's passing. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to you. I have many fond memories of my time with Sylvia.We met in 1963 in probationer's summer school, taught together in Creston North and shared lots of great laughs and memories. I spent many weekends at her home in Epworth when I didn't go home to my home in Grand Bank. Sylvia was a dear,lifelong friend and although we didn't see each other much in recent years she always held a special place in my heart , as I know she held in yours. Sam, words can't express my sympathy for you but know you are in my thoughts and prayers. We know beyond a doubt that Sylvia is now with her Lord whom she faithfully served for so many years.

I am at a loss for words, and deeply saddened to here sylvia had passed. she was a great person with those special qualities that left you feeling good and inspired. I remenber when i played in the band some 40 years ago, and looking over at sylvia on the organ desperately for the right key. Ever encounter was a positive one it seemed. I will never forget those days at the cabin and the foods she had up there and shared with us. It was all fond memories, and my heart goes out to Sam and the kids. We were more than shocked and quite saddened to hear of Sylvia’s passing. We have so many beautiful memories of our trips together. Our trip to Alberta/Saskatchewan in 2004 was so special and I (Colleen) was more than honoured to have you Sam & Sylvia in the tent with Jim as I convocated with my BN while the rain came down in torrents on the roof of the huge tent. Of course there was lots of fun on that trip and of course shopping. Our friendship goes back so many years! Many nights as a teenage girl I left my house and went next store to sleep up with Sylvia while Sam worked the midnight shift because there was thunder and lightening forecasted - Sylvia you won’t have to be afraid of thunder & lightening anymore!
Hold tight to all the precious memories you have of your dear wife, mother, mother-in-law & nanny! Look to your Heavenly Father for strength in these difficult days and keep the faith! May the love of family & friends bring you comfort.
