Obituary of Lawrence G Warren

We regret to announce the passing of Lawrence G. Warren,
Assistant Commissioner, Royal Canadian Mounted Police retired, on September 22,
2015.
Larry had a distinguished and varied career, spanning forty
years. He retired from R.C.M.P. in 2003. He was particularly proud to finish his career in St. John's, NL
where he served as Commanding Officer of "B" Division for eight
years.
Many will remember Larry "Bucky" Warren as a
skilled young soccer player, both in Burin and while attending St. Pat's in St.
John's. He was very happy to have learned that he had been inducted into the
Burin Peninsula and the Newfoundland and Labrador Soccer Halls of Fame.
Larry continued his love of soccer throughout his adult life
and played on teams in Saskatchewan, Nova Scotia and St. John's.
Larry will be deeply missed by many. He was left to mourn
his wife Laurette, daughter Jennifer Spurrell (Rod), granddaughter McKenna,
twin grandsons Cale and Connor, son Norman (Lesley), granddaughter Lucy, and
grandson Elliot, brothers Ray (Dorothy), Jim (Almena), sisters Evelyn
Grondin-Bailey , Shirley Donovan (Paul), Norma Smith (Dick), Kathy Dunderdale,
Linsey Wiscombe (Glenn), Peggy Warren (Berrick), Christine Riley (Tom), Penny
Tangney (Al), sisters-in-law Mary Frances Day (Alvin), Elizabeth Legacy as well
as nieces and nephews and a large circle of friends.
Predeceased by parents Alice and Norman Warren, sister
Marie, brother-in-law Peter Grondin, Peter Dunderdale, Lou Bailey, William
Young and Ron Legacy, mother-in-law and father-in-law Charlotte and Bill Young.
A memorial service will be held at St. Patrick's Roman
Catholic Church in Burin on Saturday October 3, 2015 at 11:00 AM to be followed
by a lunch downstairs at the social centre.
